Terms of Service

The short version

This box summarizes the full terms below, which explain each point.

About these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and Weekends Cleaners ("we", "us") for every visit, however you book: on our website, by message or by phone. Nothing in them takes away a right you have under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or any other law. If a line here seems to say otherwise, the law wins.

Who we are

Weekends Cleaners is a registered Ontario business, run by its owner as a sole proprietorship. We clean carpets, rugs, upholstery, mattresses and tile in your home, and detail cars where you park them. The owner does the work. If anyone else will come, we tell you first and stay responsible for the work.

Reach us at hello@weekendscleaners.com, or call or text +1 (437) 428-2724. You can send us any notice by email or text.

How booking works

Prices

Prices are per item, from the list on our booking page, for the items you count and describe. Your quoted price is fixed for those items, sizes and quantities. There are no surcharges for normal dirt, pet hair or wear, and no charge for work you did not ask for.

If an item is far beyond normal household use, such as urine soaked through a room, construction dust or flood residue, we tell you before starting. We may decline it, or offer a different service at a new price, which applies only if you agree to it by text, as in Changes on the day.

Changes on the day

If we find more than you booked (more seats, a larger mattress) or you ask for more, we text you the updated items, each item's price and the new total, from the same price list, before starting the extra work. Reply YES and we go ahead. Otherwise we clean only what you booked, at the booked price. Your YES and our updated confirmation, sent the same day, become part of your agreement.

If you remove items on the day, or we decline an item not as described (such as a rug too fragile to clean safely), you pay for what we clean, never less than your visit minimum. If nothing is left to clean because of items you removed or misdescribed, there is no charge, but please tell us before we drive out. If we skip an item for a risk you could not have known about, you do not pay for it: the minimum still applies to anything else we clean, and if that risk means we clean nothing at all, you pay nothing.

If we give a rough estimate, for example by message before seeing your full list, we never charge more than 10% above it unless you ask for more or different work. If a promotion was shown when you tapped Confirm & Book or replied YES, you keep it even if it ends.

Visit minimums

Every visit has a minimum charge of $150 to $300, set by where your address is and shown before you book. It covers driving, travel time and setup, so there is no separate travel fee, and item prices are the same everywhere. If your items total less, you pay the minimum, shown as its own line. On a route day near you, your minimum may be lower. If you move that booking, we tell you the new minimum before you confirm.

What is included

Included: a look over each item, pre-treatment, standard spot treatment, scrubbing where needed, and hot water extraction or a low-moisture method. No need to vacuum first. We don't move furniture: we clean around it, and under beds and furniture where we can reach. If you move pieces out of the way beforehand, or need a hand with something, we are happy to help.

Not included unless booked: stronger stain treatments that could lighten colour, used only on spots you approve in writing; repairs, re-stretching or regrouting; water damage, sewage or mould work; and house, duct or window cleaning. We never take items away.

Inspection and risky items

Before cleaning, we look over each item, test fabrics and dyes in a hidden spot where we can, and photograph stains, wear and damage. Please point out damage you know about. If you are not home, we text you our notes and photos, which record each item's condition before we started.

If an item carries a specific risk, such as dye bleeding, shrinking, browning or backing coming apart, we explain it and you choose: go ahead, use a gentler method, or skip it. We start it only after your yes in writing, by text or on our job record. If you are not home and do not reply, we skip it. A spot test lowers the risk but cannot rule it out.

If you go ahead, we use proper care. If the change we warned about still happens despite proper care, it comes from the item, not our work. If it happens because we were careless, we are responsible. We may decline any item we judge unsafe to clean on site.

Results we cannot promise

Our work must be of reasonably acceptable quality, and we stand behind it, but not every mark comes out. Cleaning cannot fix these, and can make them easier to see:

Your part

Rugs, upholstery, tile and cars

When we may decline or stop

We may decline or stop work for mould, sewage, bodily fluids or other biohazards, needles, weapons left out, bed bugs, cockroaches or rodents, clutter that blocks safe access, a contagious illness in the home, an animal we cannot work around safely, unsafe electrical, structural or access conditions, or threats, harassment or abuse, in person or by message. If we stop, you pay only for items finished, at booked prices, with no visit minimum. If you knew of the problem and did not tell us, or if we stop because of threats, harassment or abuse, we may decline future bookings.

Drying and wet floors

Drying times are estimates: most carpet dries in 4 to 8 hours and upholstery in about 3; thick pile, stairs and humid days can take up to 24 hours. Keep the heat or air conditioning on and the air moving.

Damp carpet and stairs, and hard floors next to them or under damp socks, can be slippery for hours. Walk on cleaned areas only when you must, in clean socks, and hold the rail on stairs. Keep children and pets off until dry, and pass these warnings on to everyone at home and to later visitors. Keep the blocks under furniture legs, and do not cover damp areas or move furniture back, until fully dry. If anything is still damp after 24 hours, tell us right away so we can help.

Protector, odour control and sanitizing

Fabric protector helps spills bead up so you have time to blot. It is not stain-proof and wears off with use. Odour control reduces odour, which may return if its source is in the pad or floor. Sanitizing is not a medical or allergy treatment, not mould removal, and not a germ-free promise, and any sanitizer we apply is used as its label directs. If anyone at home has allergies, asthma or chemical sensitivities, tell us first: we can send our product safety data sheets and leave out protector, odour control or fragrance.

Arrival windows and delays

We book visits on every day, in arrival windows: Morning, arrive 8 to 11 am; Midday, arrive 11 am to 2 pm; Afternoon, arrive 2 to 5 pm; Evening, arrive 5 to 8 pm; or flexible. We arrive within your window, not at an exact time, and text when we are on the way. Job lengths are estimates.

If we will arrive after your window ends, we tell you as soon as we know, and you can wait or move the visit free. If weather, unsafe roads, a breakdown or our illness stops us, or your illness stops you and you tell us before we set out, the visit moves at no charge. We change a confirmed date only with your written OK, such as a text. If we cannot start within 30 days of the agreed date, you can cancel at no charge.

Cancelling and no access

Payment

Nothing is paid at booking, and we take no deposits. You pay when the work is done, by cash or Interac e-Transfer. No HST or other tax is added, because we are not registered for HST. If we register for HST after you book, your confirmed total does not go up.

If you are home, we walk through the results with you first. If not, you pay by e-Transfer the same day, and our photos and notes record the visit. If one item is not right, please pay for the rest and tell us: we handle it under our re-clean promise or damage steps, and any refund owed is paid within 15 days.

If an amount is unpaid 14 days after the visit, we may decline new bookings until it is paid, and claim it in Small Claims Court or through a collection agency. If you dispute a payment with your bank, please contact us first. We may give the payment provider your booking record, our messages and the job photos. We email a receipt after every visit, and never hold your belongings to make you pay or to change a price.

Re-clean promise

If an area we cleaned is not right, tell us within 7 days, with photos, and we re-clean it free on one of our next booking days. That includes spots that come back as carpet dries (wicking) and light browning on natural fibres. Please let us re-clean before anyone else treats the area. If a re-clean does not fix a problem with our work, or we cannot offer a date within 30 days, we offer a fair partial or full refund for that item.

Not covered: permanent conditions we pointed out, new spills or soiling, spots treated by others after our visit, areas used before they dried, a treatment you declined, or a risk we explained that you accepted. This promise is extra and does not limit your legal rights, even after 7 days.

Damage claims

Tell us as soon as you notice, ideally within 7 days, with photos, and before the item is repaired, cleaned by others or thrown out. Telling us later does not cancel your claim, but it makes the cause harder to show. Please let us inspect before you pay someone else, so that for the item we were cleaning we can offer a fix first.

Damage to the item we were cleaning is handled by us directly, not through an insurer, so you deal with us. If we caused it, we put it right: we repair or re-clean the item when that costs no more than its value just before the damage, and otherwise pay that value, based on its age and condition, not the price of a new one. For one damaged part of a set, we fix or pay for that part, unless it cannot reasonably be matched. For an item you value above $1,000, we may ask for proof of value, such as a receipt or appraisal.

We carry commercial general liability insurance. For an injury, or damage to other property such as floors, walls or other furniture, we report it to our insurer, which may contact you and handle the claim. We do not admit fault or promise payment on those claims before the insurer agrees. We reply to every claim within 2 business days and answer in writing within 10 business days, unless our insurer is handling it. Nothing here limits what the law entitles you to.

What we are responsible for

We are responsible for loss or damage we cause by carelessness or by not working with reasonable care and skill. Unless our carelessness caused or worsened it, we are not responsible for:

We are not responsible for losses that neither of us could reasonably have expected when you booked. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for injury caused by our carelessness, or any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002.

Photos

Before and after photos, and sometimes short videos, are part of the service: they record each item's condition, check our work and help settle claims. We may decline an item we are not allowed to photograph. We keep them as long as our Privacy Policy says, and longer while a claim is open.

Posting is separate. We may post before and after photos of the items we cleaned on our website and social pages. Posted photos never show people, addresses, house numbers, licence plates, documents, mail, family photos, religious items, security systems or valuables, and we remove location data first. If you would rather we did not post photos from your visit, reply NO PHOTOS to your confirmation or tell us any time, and we will not post them, or will take them down. Saying no never affects your booking or your price.

Referrals and credits

A friend who books with your referral link or code gets a free room, rug or flight of stairs on their first clean (a $55 value), added to their order and shown on their confirmation. Once their clean is completed and paid, you get a free room, rug or flight of stairs on your next clean (also a $55 value). Free items are added to an order, so the visit minimum applies as usual.

Privacy and messages

Our Privacy Policy at /privacy explains how we handle your information. Booking messages (confirmations, reminders, on-the-way texts and receipts) come by text, email, phone or the app you used. Offers, referral invitations and review requests go only to people who booked with us in the last 2 years, asked about a booking in the last 6 months, or agreed to get them. Every message names Weekends Cleaners and gives our mailing address and contact details, or a link to them. Stop offers and review requests any time with the unsubscribe link, by replying STOP or by telling us. We act within 10 business days, and your booking is not affected.

Business customers

This section applies only when you book for a business, such as an office, a store, or rental units you manage as a business, never for your own home. If we are unsure, we treat you as a household customer. The Consumer Protection Act, 2002 covers household bookings, not businesses, so for business customers:

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date and version at the top show the current one, and each earlier version stays online at its own link. Your booking follows the terms and prices in your confirmation. Later changes apply to it only if you agree.

Disagreements and governing law

If something goes wrong, please tell us first at hello@weekendscleaners.com or +1 (437) 428-2724. Re-clean, refund and damage requests are handled under these terms, the same way whether or not a review is mentioned. We never offer or ask for refunds, discounts or free work in exchange for posting, changing or removing a review. You are free to post honest reviews, and we may reply publicly with the facts of the job, never with your address, contact details or anything our Photos section keeps private.

If a disagreement arises, we can both agree to try mediation, but you never have to, and you keep your right to go to court in Ontario, including Small Claims Court. You can also contact Consumer Protection Ontario.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. Waiving a term once, such as a fee, does not stop us relying on it later. Your confirmation, our messages and the job photos are the record of what we agreed and did.
